Free cut list optimizer & sheet nesting calculator
CutYield turns your parts into kerf-aware sheet layouts and printable cutting diagrams — plywood, MDF, and panels — or nests a DXF for the CNC.
Features
Optimized sheet layouts
The nesting optimizer packs your parts onto plywood, MDF, and panel stock and reports the utilization % — fewer sheets bought and less waste on the floor. You choose whether it works toward fewer sheets or fewer cuts.
Panel-saw cut sequence
Every cutting diagram comes with numbered rips and crosscuts you follow at the saw, with blade kerf accounted for so parts finish exactly to size.
Offcut tracking
Usable leftovers are tracked as offcuts you can add straight back into your stock, so your next cut list starts with what's already on the rack.
True-shape DXF nesting
Import a DXF and nest arbitrary shapes — a file that's all rectangles still gives you a saw cut list; curved and angled parts interlock for CNC routers, lasers, and plasma.
A cut list optimizer that stays out of your way
Parts in, optimized cutting diagram out — free and fast.
No cooldowns or waiting
Set up your cut list and re-run the optimizer whenever you like — no waiting between runs.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. The cut list optimizer and sheet nesting are free to use — open it and start optimizing.
How is kerf handled?
You enter your blade or laser kerf (for example 1/8" or 3 mm) and the optimizer spaces every cut to account for the material removed. The cutting diagram reflects true finished part sizes, so nothing comes out short.
Can I nest a DXF file?
Yes. Import a DXF and choose which layers to bring in. If every part is a rectangle you get a panel-saw cut list; if there are curves or angles, parts are nested true-shape for CNC routers, lasers, and plasma tables.
